Destination Bridlington in solicitor's tour of Yorkshire

Williamsons Solicitors has boosted its Bridlington conveyancing team with the appointment of experienced lawyer Theresa Schram.

After spending almost three decades working with practices in East and North Yorkshire, as well as a spell with the Citizens' Advice Bureau in Hull, Mrs Schram's new role has coincided with clear signs of a property upturn in the resort.

Based at Williamsons' offices in Wellington Road, she is working with branch manager Richard Bancroft, who has 37 years' experience in the local property market, and licensed conveyancer Suzanne Spooner.

As a residential specialist, Mrs Schram's aim is to make the conveyancing process as smooth and straightforward as possible.

"Clients will find us friendly and approachable and that we respond promptly to whatever arises.

"We always make ourselves available and, unlike many, we are happy to go out of the office to help clients in any way we can," said Mrs Schram, who took her law degree at Nottingham Trent University and Law Society finals at the College of Law, Chester, in the late 1980s.

Bill Waddington, Williamsons' director, said: "We know Theresa's extensive legal knowledge and keen eye for detail will be of great benefit to clients in the years to come."

Mr Bancroft said the market had picked up after a long, quiet spell with few properties available.

Mrs Schram added: "It's definitely getting better and the trade is not as seasonal as it used to be.

"Bridlington seems to be more on the map these days and property in the town remains comparatively inexpensive. There is a lot of interest from West Yorkshire."

Mrs Schram's experience includes unregistered and registered land, freehold and leasehold titles, remortgages and transfers of equity.

With a head office in Hull and branches in Beverley, Driffield and Bridlington, Williamsons offer a full range of legal services throughout the region.
