New recruit strengthens services to lively commercial property sector

Caitlin Macnamara has clear sights on the future after joining Hull and East Yorkshire law firm Williamsons as a commercial property solicitor at their Beverley office.

Caitlin, who is the daughter of a solicitor, said it was the perfect place to develop her career after working with another regional practice as a trainee and recently qualifying from the University of Law.

"I work for landlords and tenants on commercial leases – though naturally not at the same time – and you soon find that no two days are the same and each client has unique requirements,” she said.

"I enjoy all the problem solving it entails and doing our utmost to provide a good service to customers. We don't do 'conveyor belt transactions’.”

Caitlin, 27, from Withernsea, East Yorkshire, also has experience in residential plot sales and purchases and wills and probate.

Williamsons director Bill Waddington said: "Caitlin has specialist and all-round skills and is a very good addition to our Beverley team.

"We serve the region in all main fields of law and we are very well set-up for the lively commercial property market.”

Outside work, Caitlin is a keen sportswoman, who likes skiing and polo as well as being a runner with a personal cause.

Her father, David Macnamara, is a victim of retinitis pigmentosa and is now registered blind although he continues to work. Caitlin is raising funds for the RP Fighting Blindness charity, including £2,000 at this year’s London Marathon.

"It is a degenerative, hereditary eye disease that has been in our family for a hundred years and the end result is a loss of sight," Caitlin said. "It is a horrible prospect although my dad just gets on with it. Fortunately, for me, I don't have it."

Caitlin gained a Bachelor's degree in history and a Master's degree in the history of art from the University of Warwick before being awarded a graduate diploma from BPP University Law School in 2015 and moving on to the University of Law.

Williamsons Solicitors has its head office in Hull with branches in Beverley, Bridlington and Driffield.
